Kamusta kayong lahat, ako si juan and this is episode 8 Part I of learn filipino podcast. yes yes yes i am back. as always i would like to thank everyone who emailed me salamat for that. this podcast is now on itunes, i am looking forward for a review, good or bad, still looking forward to it. Today we will go over how to describe someone. Okay lets start. First of all, in tagalog, we use the same word for he and she. We use "siya" (pronounced "sha") for he and she. For example. He/She is smart.
Now if you want to say I am smart, you take out siya from the previous sentence, and we replace it with ako, which is I in english. so it becomes. I am smart.
so that is the pattern, first is the adjective, then the pronoun, so if you want to say you are smart, you say. You are smart.
So far so good, i hope so. Now if we want to say, they are smart, again we put the adjective first then the pronoun, so we get. They are smart.
Now we in tagalog is tayo, so if you want to say we are smart, we say. We are smart.
Great. Now if you know the name of the person you want to describe for example: Einstein is smart. It becomes Einstein is smart.
You just add si in the sentence. Wow, that is a lot for today, but we are not done yet, In Episode 8 Part II I will introduce more adjectives that you can use like beautiful, handsome, skillful, ugly, dirty etc etc. So dont forget to check it out. As always I close the podcast with a tagalog song Today, I will play a song from Color it Red, this song is titled Paglisan which means Departure in English, hope you like it. Paalam. Episode 7
